Two Mini Book Reviews

~ Swindle by Gordan Corman ~

Summary: After a mean collector named Swindle cons him out of his most valuable baseball card, Griffin Bing must put together a band of misfits to break into Swindle's compound and recapture the card. There are many things standing in their way -- a menacing guard dog, a high-tech security system, a very secret hiding place, and their inability to drive -- but Griffin and his team are going to get back what's rightfully his . . . even if hijinks ensue.

My Thoughts: Haha, I loved this series! :D It's funny, suspenseful... and just plain awesome! I read Swindle a while ago and just finished reading the third book in the series (Framed) and can't wait to finish it off with the fourth and fifth one! :)

~ Tomorrow Girls series by Eva Gray ~

Summary: In a terrifying future world, four girls must depend on each other if they want to survive.
Louisa is nervous about being sent away to a boarding school -- but she’s excited, too. And she has her best friend, Maddie, to keep her company. The girls have to pretend to be twin sisters, which Louisa thinks just adds to the adventure!
Country Manor School isn’t all excitement, though. Louisa isn’t sure how she feels about her new roommates: athletic but snobby Rosie and everything’s-a-conspiracy Evelyn. Even Maddie seems different away from home, quiet and worried all the time.
Still, Louisa loves CMS -- the survival skills classes, the fresh air. She doesn’t even miss not having a TV, or the internet, or any contact with home. It’s for their own safety, after all.
Or is it?

My Thoughts: Oh my goodness this is one the best series I have ever read! I was hooked from the beginning and loved all the mystery, adventure, and friendship. It even has a little bit of romance in it. If you are a fan of Divergent, The Hunger Games, etc... then this book is for you! :)

Age Range: 11+

Rating: 5 stars!

Have a great day! :)

No Schedule for One Month - AND 20 Random Facts about me. - AGMarket

We decided to try one month without having a schedule, to see if that would fit our blog better. We will see! (:

I am going to do a "20 Random Facts about me" post that was inspired by Alyssa. :)

1. When I went to a public school in kindergarden, they used to have this "snack hour" on Fridays. I always used to save up my little quarters and buy a PICKLE. Haha.

2. I can't have dairy. :(

3. My first business was selling flower barretes. I made SO much money.

4. When the AG doll Mckenna came out. I HATED her. Now she is my favorite. :P

5. ON Instagram (or even on my Blog), nobody knows where I live, what state I live in, my last name, or what I look like. Woot woot!

6. I don't have a phone, but I am addicted to buying cell phone cases for my friends. ;P

7. I finish five books a day. I just love reading.

8. I am very good in drama. I was even asked to be in the saige movie to try out, but I declined because my parents were in Ireland. :(

9. I also love to sing.

10. I teach the 3 year olds (used to be four year olds) at my church. I have 14 little children in my class.

11. I don't prefer red meat, but I am not picky, so I eat it anyway!

12. I get horrible dreams. I always have the same dreams over and over.

13. Believe it or not, I am quite short for my age.

14. Before I was born, everyone thought I was going to be a boy. xD

15. I want to be a wedding planner when I grow up.

16. I love to dance. Hip hop, ballet, spanish, etc - I'm there!!

17. I just HATE calling people on phones. I find it so awkward. xD

18.I at one point had 17 blogs, now (thankfully) I have 4.

19. My lips are naturally really red, so I don't have to wear lip-stick. :P

20. I am overall a goofy person.

Short Stories // A New Member!

{1}

I sprinkled a little more flour on the dough, and resumed by kneading. I dug my knuckles into the dough, making the shape bigger. Ma and I were making cinnamon rolls. I'll admit I'm not much of a cook, but being that Pa's birthday was tomorrow and this year he'd rather have cinnamon rolls than cake or ice cream, I figured why not try and help Ma make some for his special day?
She studied my progress with her deep blue eyes. As deep as the ocean, Pa used to say.
"May I?" she asked, and I let her cut in. "You're doing fine, but there's an easier and faster way to do this. Watch and learn."
I nodded, and Ma's fingers flew over the dough. She kneaded it every which way and the shape soon became more of a circle as she stretched it to its full potential.
"Like so." She placed the dough in my small hands and set her messy ones on top of mine. She then went to guiding my hands along the dough.
"You need to take control of the dough. Get into a rhythm. And be firm with it. It's okay to knead it like you're mad at it. That way, you can make sure there's no air bubbles. Just make sure you don't make a hole in it!" She smiled and let go. "You try now."
"Thanks, Ma."
I smiled in return and went back to work. I was gonna make sure that these cinnamon would be the best Pa ever tasted!

"Yay! We're home!" I leaped out of the car as soon as it had come to a complete stop.
"Come on, Laura!" Peter raced off into the yard, leaving Sabrina and I in the dust.
"Don't go far, kids!" Daddy opened up the trunk.
"You need to help unpack!" Momma said.
"We'll be back in a minute!" I reassured, following after Peter with Sabrina.
"I want to come too!" Little Annie pulled on Momma's skirts.
She was only three years old and could barely walk.
"Oh, no you don't! You're coming with Momma and into the house. We need to get you to bed!"
Their voices grew faint as we drew farther away from them and closer to our destination.
The setting sun looked like a great ball of fire being swallowed up by the sparkling waters of Lake Watson. It was the perfect night to watch the sunset.
Every summer for as long as I can remember, our whole family (and some neighbors) would join us out back by the shore to watch the sunset. Sometimes, when it was a good night, we would even watch the stars and Daddy would teach us the constellations. Throughout the day, we'd play and laugh and swim a lot. I loved living where we did. It was my favorite place in the whole world.

What do you think? :) They're really short and I could definitely see myself continue them (especially #2), but since there are two of them, I figured they should be.

Guess what! Grace has joined our blog! :) Her day will be Monday and we can't wait to start posting with her! That means, we will be getting a new blog design and the giveaway is still on! We just need to figure out what we want to give away. :)

Hi everyone! :) Happy Sunday!
Wednesday seems so long ago. I'm sorry there haven't been any posts since then and that (at least in my eyes) that our blog is kind of falling apart. Well, not really falling apart (that seems kind of drastic), but more like f a d i n g   a  w  a  y  .  .  .  . I don't know. Maybe I'm just overreacting. :P What do you think? Flower Crowns and Other Cool Things

Since we kind of have a fashion/hair theme going on (what with all the colored hair pics) I thought I would contribute some of my favorites too.

Lately, I have been obsessed with flower crowns! Aren't they lovely? I don't own any at the moment (boo hoo) but I'm planning on stopping by Claire's to get some soon! :)

I just absolutely love chevron! Whether it's in nails, dresses, or skirts it's one of my favorite designs.

What has been some of your favorite fashion trends lately?
