Aria was concerned. The forest was silent. Nothing stirred in the undergrowth and no animal showed itself. There was no wind to carry the autumn leaves to the ground. There was nothing. This was not good.
She walked as quickly and discretely as possible, looking over her shoulder every few minutes to make sure she was not being followed. If they found out where she was going... she didn't want to think of the consequences. The forest was in danger, and help was needed.
Her hunter green cloak rushed out behind her as she quickened her pace. She had to to be back before nightfall and the sun was sinking lower and lower into the sky, casting a golden glow through the whole forest. The intensity of it almost blinded her, and she stumbled about for a few minutes before coming upon a cottage set up against a cave. She sighed with relief. She had made it to her destination.
The cottage was very small and dilapidated; it was falling apart and in dire need of repair. She wondered how old the place could be, as was the person said to be living inside.
There was only one way to find out. Please have him help us, she silently prayed and then knocked on the door.
