Cotton Candy

Hey y'all. :)
So... You know cotton candy? Or fairy floss? The "carnival candy"?
Well... I don't even know why I just posted that. OF COURSE you know about it.
So anyhow, I decided to do a post devoted to it because...
*drumroll*
I'm doing a speech about it and found many interesting facts.
^ I know. It was such a dramatic reason. The drumroll was very necessary. :)
Anyways, I'll just get started on the facts.
1. Even though cotton candy usually comes in HUUGE bundles, it only takes a small quantity of sugar to make a huge bundle of it.
2. In French, it's name is "barbe de papa."
3. The first time spun sugar was sold, it was sold for 25 cents for one box.
4. 25 cents back then was equivalent to 6$ right now.
5. Cotton candy was invented by a dentist. (I know, so irony. >.<)
6. It was firstly introduced as fairy floss, but Thomas Patton introduced it another time as cotton candy, so the name fairy floss faded away.
7. Cotton candy is still called fairy floss in Australia. But in Australia only.
8. At the time when spun sugar was first invented, it was a hard labor work because there weren't any machines to help make it. (Nowadays, it's just like "la dee da dee da, spin spin spin...")
9. It's sold mainly at carnivals or fairs because the first time it was introduced to the public, they sold it at a carnival. And trust me, it was a big hit. So it stayed as some kind of tradition-ish thing.
10. The first cotton candy machine was made in 1972.

So... that's ten facts about cotton candy. I know, you'd be fine without knowing that, but.... I just couldn't help my nerdy side, okay?! o.O
Um... So... Tell me watcha thought about that! :)

.
^ I just love this new signature thingie.

1/26/14

Hey guys. :) I've come back from the depths of winter. Though lately the weather has been holding back on our typical winter and instead swapped it for sunny, 70 degrees summer weather. And there's been no rain for the longest time so it's very dry and there may have to be water shortages. :P So please pray for rain!

Updates on life...

School~ I'm slowly starting to figure it all out and the big picture.
Confession time: Certain people have been heavy on my heart lately. People who don't have God in their life. It makes me so sad because they are missing out on something so wonderful and they don't know it. I want to tell them all these awesome things about God and that He loves them and so do I, but the words never come in the moment. The moment passes and I feel like a loser, like I didn't do enough and that it's all my fault, that they will never find God. But I've come to realize, that I don't need to worry about them so much. That's God's job. I've just got to give all my hardships and worries and problems to God. Because He'll sort them out. He always does and in His time.
Thank you God.

Home~ My wonderful dog, Kinley, died today. We had to put him down because he had cancer. :( It was hard at the time and we'll miss him, but it was for the best and he lived a very happy ten years. He's in dog heaven now. :)
Also, I'll be able to get my license soon! Ahh! :D

Plans for the summer~ 1. Lake Tahoe 2. Working at Kruz Kidz again as a part-time counselor 3. Maybe working (and getting paid) at a local ice cream shop. How fun would that be? 4. More Tahoe 5. Disneyland!!! (More to come on that.)

Thanks for reading // Have a great day! :)
